SISC Health Plan: Important Information

As you know, we made a medical vendor change. We are working with the new vendor, SISC, to have your new member ID cards to you before January 1st.  You can view your selections all throughout the year now on BeneTrac.

Below are useful tips for the transition over to SISC:

  • Try to refill maintenance prescriptions prior to the end date of the existing coverage, December 31st!

  • Make sure you let your doctors know you changed insurance and report this when you make an appointment.

  • If you have a scheduled surgery already confirmed and authorized with Anthem, please contact the medical provider to share your new insurance information to ensure a new authorization is processed timely.

Where is my ID Card?

Anthem members

ID cards will be mailed this week. Please allow 5-7 business days for delivery. Members can print a temporary ID card at www.anthem.com/ca/sisc or by using the Sydney app.

  • Anthem PPO Enrollees: If an employee is enrolled on an Anthem PPO plan, the carrier issues two ID cards at a time, and the whole family will have the same ID number. They do not issue individual cards for each family member. If you wish to have an ID card for dependent children, you must call 800-825-5541 to request one. The ID card will be mailed in 7-10 business days and will be available online in your Anthem account in 48 hours.

  • Anthem HMO Enrollees: If an employee is enrolled on one of the Anthem HMO plans, each covered family member will have their own ID card with their own primary care provider (PCP) designation. However, the ID number for all family members will be the same. Check your ID cards for accuracy. Anthem HMO members need to verify that the PCP and Medical Group on the card is the provider they chose when enrolling. If not, the member should call (800) 825-5541. Some members will be auto assigned due to not indicating a PCP or had an incomplete provider code, so we highly encourage you to call Anthem to choose a PCP BEFORE you need to see a doctor.

Kaiser members

ID cards will be mailed this week unless you have received a new Kaiser card in the last 12 months. You can continue to use your current ID card. Please allow 5-7 business days for delivery.

  • Customer Service number: 800-464-4000

  • Members can preview their ID card at www.kp.org – see attached Kaiser Mobile Ap information

  • Each covered family member will have their own ID card. The Kaiser member ID number never changes.

Prescription Reminders

  • Try to refill maintenance prescriptions prior to the end date of your CalPERS health plan -  December 31st!

  • Let your medical provider and pharmacy know of the insurance change; they may need to get prior authorization for specific prescriptions.

  • Anthem Members:  Navitus is the new pharmacy manager:

  • Kaiser Members:  no change to the Kaiser pharmacy process
