Registering for the AFT Local 1828 Website
The AFT Local 1828 website is a website operated by the Ventura County Federation of College Teachers (the AFT Local 1828). Many of the resources on this site are accessible to all visitors; however, there are other areas to which access is restricted to current union members only.

To access the restricted areas of this website you must meet both of the following criteria

You must be a current AFT Local 1828 union member

You must be a registered user of this website.

How to sign up for AFT Local 1828 union membership
To qualify for membership in the AFT Local 1828, you must be an active member of the faculty at one of the three Ventura County Community College District's colleges--Moorpark College, Oxnard College, or Ventura College. If you are a current faculty member and would like to join the union please click here, to complete our online signup form to authorized monthly deductions of union dues from your paycheck. Once you have completed the sign up process, your dues deductions will begin within 1-2 months; however, you will be covered by all the benefits of membership upon submission of the form.

If you are not sure whether you are a current member of the AFT Local 1828, you may confirm your status by checking your most recent VCCCD paystub.
If you are a current union member, you will see deductions for dues in the section displayed in the image to the left.
How to Register for this Website
If you are a union member, but you are not currently registered for this website, you must request registration by clicking on the “login” link in the upper right of the header bar which is circled in the image below
When you click the link you will see the following login/registration screen.
Click on the “sign up” link on this screen which is highlighted in yellow above, and you will be taken to the new user signup form which should look similar to the image below.
Your first name and last name are required. Please enter you non-work email which will be your login name once you are registered for the site. Enter a password you are likely to remember and select the checkbox verifying you are a union member.

Once you click submit you will receive and email at the address you used to sign up confirming that you have requested registration and you are pending approval. Because AFT Local 1828 union membership is a requirement for registration on this site we must manually confirm that you are a current member. We will make every effort to do this quickly; however, this may take up to 48 hours in some cases.

Once your union membership is confirmed you will receive an email at that address you used to register confirming that you are approved. Once you are approved you may log into the site and access the members-only content. If you experience any difficulties with the registration process, please contact our administrative assistant here.
