Ratification Information Page
The Ventura County Federation of College Teachers and the Ventura County Community College District have reached a tentative agreement on the 2022-2025 collective bargaining agreement. This tentative agreement must be ratified by the vote of the AFT Local 1828 membership and thereafter approved by the VCCCD board of trustees in order to become official. Under the Constitution and Bylaws of the AFT Local 1828 this ratification vote must be done by secret ballot and is limited to members "in good standing" which the Constitution defines as members who have dues payments for one pay period prior to the ratification vote. The ratification vote will occur starting on January 16, which means that members must have dues deductions for December 2022 in order to receive a ballot.
Prior to balloting, the AFT Local 1828 will be providing as much information about the tentative agreement and how it impacts the VCCCD faculty. This page has been created to serve as a central repository for ratification information and will be a "work-in-progress" throughout the ratification period. If you do not find the answers to your questions, or, do not find a resource to help you reach a decision on the ratification vote, please send us your question here
