AFT Local 1828

The Ventura County Federation of College Teachers, AFT Local 1828, is a labor union representing the faculty members of the Ventura County Community College District. Our faculty serve the 32,000 students enrolled in the district's three colleges - Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura.

Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment is coming July 15, 2024 – August 13, 2024!  This Open Enrollment period is ONLY to make changes to your medical plan. You will be able to make changes or add/remove dependents to your medical plans. If you are not making changes to your SISC medical plan coverage, not action is required. Grievances

If you need to file a grievance, you may complete Appendix C: Grievance Procedure Form. If you choose to represent yourself during the grievance process, please follow the steps outlined in Article 16 in a timely manner so that you do not forfeit your rights.  If you like, you may ask for union representation and the union will assist you in filing a grievance on your behalf and ensure your contract rights are met.

 

Members and non-members may send a confidential email to our grievance team at grievanceteam@aft1828.org if you require assistance.  We promise we will do our best to get back to you within 48-72 work hours. Please note that it is best to use a non-vcccd email when you contact the union via email.
